February First Goal Set For In-Person Instruction In Fayette County Public Schools

Fayette County Public Schools

Parents of students in Fayette County public schools have been updated on a preliminary classroom instruction plan.  Administrators note the schedule is fluid at this point.

In a letter to Fayette County Public Schools families, Acting Superintendent Marlene Helm said the In-Person Learning Matrix provides a path back to the classroom while prioritizing health and safety.

The veteran education administrator says average daily COVID cases in Lexington have been more than 200 the past nine days after about three weeks of steady decline.   Helm wrote the data indicates remote learning should continue the weeks of January 19th and January 25th

The goal is to begin graduated in-person learning the week of February first.  Helm said expect to see school buses on the road as drivers and monitors begin practicing their routes.?
