Fayette Schools' Administration Relocates

Fayette County Public Schools

For more than half century, the administration for Fayette County public schools has been located near downtown Lexington.  The Lexington school district has decided to make a move.

The transition for Fayette County public school administrators is expected to take place during November.  The staff will shift gradually, over several weeks, a few departments at a time to 450 Park Place in northern Lexington.

For now, the monthly school board action meetings will continue in Norsworthy Auditorium at 701 East Main Street.  Community members may attend, but public comment is not allowed because of health precautions due to coronavirus.

The Guys S. Potts Building on Main Street opened in 1928 as Henry Clay High School.  In 1970, Henry Clay moved to Fontaine Road and the Main Street facility was renovated for district offices.?
