Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Jay Box has appointed Dr. Koffi Akakpo to head Bluegrass Community & Technical College.
Akakpo currently serves as vice president for business, administrative, and student services at North Central State College in Ohio. He believes there are more opportunities than challenges in taking on the presidency at the Lexington school.“Workforce development is a big one for me. As I went around and I looked at all the sites and all the potential that we have. I think we have a lot to offer,” said Akakpo.
Akakpo takes over for Augusta Julian, who is retiring after serving as BCTC president for eleven years. Akakpo officially begins his new job in February.
