EKU President: COVID-19 Zero Tolerance Policy Now In Effect For Students

staywell.eku.edu

Eastern Kentucky University President David McFaddin is urging students at the Richmond school to stay alert to coronavirus prevention measures.  The message also calls for reporting cases of poor behavior.

In a campus wide email to students, McFaddin said despite considerable efforts there was an increase in COVID-19 symptoms, cases, and possible exposure to positive individuals during the second week of classes.  To keep the cases manageable, the top administrator announced a zero tolerance policy for any intentional and persistent behaviors not in line with the current campus, local, state, or federal pandemic guidelines. Violators face consequences and possible discipline up to and including suspension or expulsion.  Students are urged to report violations through an online Compliance portal.

During the fall semester EKU is reporting 32 coronavirus cases; which include 14 residential students, 19 non-residential students, and eight employees.?
