CREDIT CREDIT MARTY OSBOURN, KENTUCKY PEDIATRIC/ADULT RESEARCH COO

Kentucky is seeing a variant of coronavirus first noted in Great Britain.  That information came from the governor’s office Tuesday.

Governor Beshear says two cases of the more easily spread COVID-19 variant from the United Kingdom have been confirmed in the Commonwealth.  State Public Health Commissioner Steven Stack is expected to offer more details on those cases Wednesday afternoon.

During a call with President Biden’s COVID-19 team Tuesday, the governor said he was told the federal government will increase each state’s vaccine supply by 17%.  2714 new cases of coronavirus were reported along with 35 additional deaths.  The positivity rate stands at 9.6%.?
