Governor Andy Beshear reported 852 new coronavirus cases in Kentucky Sunday. Of the new cases, 90 were reported in children under 19 years old and the youngest case was listed as a 23 day old infant. Three deaths attributed to the virus were also reported. That brings the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,252.
Dr. Steven Stack, Kentucky Department of Public Health Commissioner said congregate care settings in Kentucky continue to account for a large number of COVID-19 deaths. Stack also said social gatherings and settings where people are in proximity to each other for extended periods of time are adding to clusters of cases.
