Singletary Center Presents: Expansive Sound Series #9: Chuck Johnson / Clarice Jensen

Singletary Center Presents: Expansive Sound Series #9: Chuck Johnson / Clarice Jensen

Chuck Johnson and Clarice Jensen bring together two distinct yet complementary voices in contemporary music. Johnson, based in California, explores themes of memory and time through his unique blend of pedal steel guitar, experimental electronics, and chamber ensemble arrangements. He is also an accomplished film composer and mixing engineer, known for pushing the boundaries of sound.

New York-based cellist and composer Jensen creates deeply immersive drone-based soundscapes by layering cello loops and electronic effects, combining emotional depth with precision and restraint. As artistic director of ACME, she supports modern classical music and composes for film and television, gaining recognition for her innovative works and collaborations. Their collaboration promises an evocative, textured performance that melds experimental sound worlds with haunting melodic expression.
