Junebug Festival
Junebug Festival
Old Town Shopkeepers invite the community to gather for Junebug Festival, a free family-friendly evening celebration happening Friday, June 5 from 6–9 PM in the heart of Old Town Berea. Filled with rhythm, creativity, and playful summer energy, the event will bring together live music, hands-on activities, local artists, food, and community connection.
As the evening unfolds, guests can explore vendors, play yard games, enjoy the bubble dome, sidewalk chalk, face painting, join in the tie-dye station, and see and live pottery demonstrations by ceramic artist Jonathan Dazo. Local vendors include Kentucky Lilly, Everbloom, Crow and Cat Bookshoppe, and Dazo Pottery.
At 7 PM, the evening will transition into one of the festival’s highlights: a live hand drum performance by Pangea followed by an open community drum circle. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to join in—no experience necessary. Guests are welcome to bring drums or instruments from home and participate in the shared rhythm experience.
One of the evening’s featured activities will be a community tie-dye station designed for both kids and adults. Participants are encouraged to bring a 100% cotton shirt or small fabric item to dye. A limited number of children’s shirts will also be available for a $3 donation. Tie-dye station and children's shirts available while supples last.
“June Bug Fest is really about creating a joyful summer evening where people can slow down, make something, listen to music, and simply enjoy being together,” said organizers with the Old Town Shopkeepers Collective. “We wanted it to feel welcoming, creative, relaxed, and community-centered.”
The event is free and open to all ages.
