Chamber Music Festival of Lexington

Chamber Music Festival of Lexington
The Chamber Music Festival of Lexington presents its seventeenth season, with formal performances, free public appearances, and educational work with students in Lexington this August 19-25. Native Lexingtonian and Artistic Director Nathan Cole, who has just been named the new concert master of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, will join CMFL core musicians Akiko Tarumoto, Burchard Tang, Priscilla Lee and Alessio Bax for our 7-day festival. These five musicians inaugurated this festival in 2007 and have graced the Lexington arts community with world-class chamber music programs and performances year after year. After a stunning residency in 2023, Kenneth Olsen will return in 2024 as artist-in-residence. Ken is Assistant Principal Cellist of the Chicago Symphony.
We are thrilled to feature members of the Lexington Chamber Orchestra as our ensemble-in-residence this season. This trio of musicians, which includes LCO concert master Margie Karp, violist Tze-Ying Wu and cellist Yoonie Choi, will appear throughout the community in pop-up performances and provide hands-on educational work with underserved students in Lexington.
Thanks to the generous support of board member Ellen Rosenman, our core quartet musicians will play the world premiere of a new composition by our composer-in-residence, Salina Fisher, entitled Drift.
