Frustrated Consumer Sues Walmart Over 2 Cents

DAVID GREENE, Host:

Good morning. I'm David Greene. Do you ever get frustrated when you're shopping and the wrong price comes up at the register? Well, Mary Bach was frustrated, so she sued Wal-Mart over two cents. The price for her Brown 'n Serve sausage scanned for two pennies more than what the price tag showed. The Pennsylvania woman who's a consumer activist accused Wal-Mart of unfair trade practices, and she won. A judge awarded her $100 in damages. Wal-Mart does now have a month to appeal the decision. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
