EKU football player and his father arrested after incident following Homecoming game

According to court documents, Charles Ingram V and his father, Charles Ingram IV, got into a fight with one of the team’s assistant coaches.

An Eastern Kentucky University football player and his father were arrested after an incident following Saturday’s game.

Police say, following Saturday night’s football game, Rashad Watson, a member of the EKU football coaching staff, was assaulted by an EKU student-athlete and one of their family members in the stadium parking lot.

According to court documents, Charles Ingram V and his father, Charles Ingram IV, got into a fight with one of the team’s assistant coaches.

The police broke up the altercation, and after the initial on-site investigation, Watson was released. The Ingrams were placed under arrest.

They were booked into the Madison County Detention Center and have since been released.A statement from the university says that Ingram, a redshirt junior defensive back,  has been suspended from the football team.

This is an ongoing investigation.
