Kentucky State University is looking to promote its agricultural programs by hosting its third annual “ag roundup” campus event.
The school says hundreds of people, students and otherwise, have attended the past two years.
Marcus Bernard is KSU’s Dean of the College for Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources. He says the highlight is the many interactive exhibits.
“The whole campus will be on display from our aquaculture program, the hydroponics, the aquaponics, to working with our small ruminant and goat program, letting the students see what it feels like to touch a goat,” he said.
Other activities include exhibits on fermentation and distillation, urban agriculture and pollinator conservation.
Bernard says it’s open for people across the state.
“We have them coming from as far east as Martin County, with projects and activities we have going on there to as far west as Logan County in the Russellville area.”
Most events are scheduled Friday, with campus tours also scheduled the next day.
