Officials are reporting multiple shootings in Lexington on Sunday. So far, three different incidents have been reported; however, it has not been confirmed if all of them are connected.

Governor Beshear announced on social media that there was a series of incidents in Lexington centered around a single suspect. These include the shooting of a Kentucky State Police Trooper and an additional shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church with multiple injuries. The post said the trooper and others are being treated at a nearby hospital.

The Kentucky State Police say the suspect shot a trooper and then fled the scene, ending up at the Richmond Road Baptist Church. KSP and the Lexington Police Department were able to secure the suspect.

Their post said the suspect is deceased, and there were multiple victims at the church. However, their status is unknown at this time.

Earlier on Sunday, Lexington Police officials said officers were dispatched to Winchester Road for an individual who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located a female victim who had been shot. She was transported to a local hospital with reported life-threatening injuries.

Two male victims with non-life-threatening injuries from gunshot wounds arrived at local hospitals while officers were still at the scene. It is unclear at this time if these shootings are all connected.

Law enforcement officials say the shootings are all still under investigation.
