Possible tornado hits Washington County

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, radar indicates a tornado caused this damage in Washington County early Friday morning.

The lead forecaster for the National Weather Service in Louisville says radar for a storm that hit southeastern Washington County around 6:50 a.m. showed a strong tornadic signature and debris signature. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports multiple homes damaged and several injuries. WEKU will provide updates through the day.

Update:

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports one person was killed and at least seven injured in this morning’s severe weather. Also, a young child was found after a search and rescue and taken to an area hospital.
