More help is coming for the survivors of last week's deadly Southern Kentucky tornadoes. Governor Beshear has activated the state’s travel trailer program.

At least 100 trailers are on their way to Laurel County to help those displaced.

During his Team Kentucky update, the governor said he's working with another state to get the trailers to the impacted areas.

“We have an agreement with Louisiana for 90 travel trailers that are going to head this way. We're purchasing more, we're going to have a total of at least 100 travel trailers to help out people impacted, especially in the London and Laurel County area.”

The governor said the trailers will be set up in Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park. He said the state has previously had to upgrade the infrastructure at parks to use the travel trailers.

“Levi Jackson Park has the water, the power, everything we need, so we're able to bring these travel trailers in, hook them immediately up, and that's going to mean this program runs significantly faster than in the past.”

Governor Beshear said he is waiting on the Trump Administration's decision for federal individual assistance for 8 counties and public assistance for 22 counties impacted by last weekend's storms.
