The National Weather Service reports rain throughout the Commonwealth starting this evening and all day Thursday. That includes thunderstorms late Thursday afternoon and evening.

Meteorologists say it should move through the region quickly. The National Weather Service predicts anywhere from one-tenth to a half inch of rain.

Louisville meteorologist Chase Graham says that rainfall shouldn’t worsen any flooding in the state.

“We could have some minor ponding of water in the heaviest rain showers, but we're not expecting anything that will really aggravate the flooding concerns,” Graham said.

Graham says to be careful around flood waters in the meantime. He recommends paying attention to road closures and turning around from any flooded roads while driving.
