Governor Andy Beshear announcing new website to help laid off federal workers find jobs in KY

Thousands of federal workers have been laid off in recent months as the Department of Government Efficiency cuts staff at federal agencies.

Kentucky officials have launched a new website with resources for federal workers to find work in the commonwealth. Governor Beshear said these workers are being treated unfairly by the Trump Administration.

“They're being laid off despite the fact they do good work, or even being lied to saying it's their fault and they're doing a bad job when they've recently been promoted and have spotless records. Now is the time for Team Kentucky to be there for them just like they have been there for us.”

Beshear said the website will help some of these workers find many opportunities.

“Here you'll find existing vacancies and opportunities to join Team Kentucky, information for veterans and links to job skills, career counseling, and training. We also have a hotline with career counselors that are available.”

A virtual career fair will be held on Thursday, April 10th for former federal employees to learn about job opportunities. That virtual fair will from 9 AM until noon.

The hotline with career counselors is available at 502-564-8030. If you or someone you know has been impacted by federal layoffs, please visit TeamKY4FedEmployees.ky.gov for a comprehensive list of resources.
