The Trump Administration announced Friday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is authorized to provide assistance in all 120 Kentucky counties.

The announcement comes two days after heavy rain and other severe weather swept into the commonwealth and stuck around. According to a news release, FEMA is authorized to coordinate all disaster relief efforts from Wednesday on. The release states FEMA can “identify, mobilize and provide, at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency.” It also notes that the agency’s public assistance program will pay 75 percent of the cost of emergency protective measures.
