Kay Hensley, shown here at the Jan. 4 "Justice for Doug" march, says she'll be at the next one on Jan. 25.

Two weeks after London police apparently showed up at the wrong address and fatally shot a man, Mayor Randle Weddle told media outlets they’ll begin using bodycams again. Doug Harless was killed December 23, after allegedly raising a gun when police forced their way into his home. London police stopped wearing bodycams in March of 2023. London attorney Kay Hensley was one of the people who took part in the “Justice for Doug” march January 4th.

“I've always been a big supporter of the blue, but on its face, it looks like there were some problems with it, and I just think we need to be informed, fully informed. There needs to be total transparency.”

Another march is scheduled for January 25th, and Hensley says she’ll be there. She said she’s glad to hear of the restored bodycam policy, but …

“That should never been stopped in the first place. They had plenty money. They bought five or six new cruisers last year and all kinds of things they should never have been stopped. Money was not an issue, if it had been handled right.”

Kentucky state police are investigating the Harless shooting. Mayor Weddle did not respond to several calls and emails from WEKU.
