The deadline is quickly approaching for Kentuckians to sign up for state-based healthcare insurance. Officials expect an increase in the number of people applying for KYNECT.

During a press conference this week, Kentucky Public Health Commissioner, Dr. Steven Stack said they are looking record numbers of enrollment.

“I'm really thrilled to share, as of last week, more than 93,000 Kentuckians have gotten health insurance coverage through KYNECT. That's well over the 75,000 persons who signed up last year and a a new record and our strongest enrollment since KYNECT relaunched in November of 2021.”

Stack said this is an option for Kentuckians who do not have coverage elsewhere.

“If you don't have health coverage through an employer, Medicaid, the Kentucky Childrens' Health Insurance Program, Medicare, or Tricare, then you can enroll in a plan today. At KYNECT, we have a team of connectors and insurance agents that are here to help at no cost to you and they will guide you through the process of finding quality, affordable health coverage, that is best suited for you and your family.”

For those who enroll now, their coverage will begin on February first. More information about KYNECT can be found here.
