Tuesday marked the thousand-day anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine – and it’s a grim one for the estimated thousands of Ukrainians living in central Kentucky. Victor Selepina is a member of the new House of Prayer Church in Lexington.
“People are still dying, and it's a very sad, sad situation to us. Unfortunately, a lot of people are getting used to it, even some of the Ukrainians here, you know, we're just getting used to the flow of people coming in here, and us being here and in this blessed country.”
Selepina said in his opinion, the Biden Administration’s recent decision to allow Ukraine to use American-made long-range weapons to strike inside Russia came 1,000 days too late – and that he believes the next administration will do better.
“May not be exactly how Zelensky or I envision it, or would like it to end, but I do think people will stop dying quicker with this new administration.”
Selepina said the most powerful weapons against Russia are still the prayers and support of the American people.
