Southland Christian Church was one of 10 voting centers Jessamine County voters could choose from.

Voters in Jessamine County had 10 voting centers to choose from on election day. One of those was the main campus of Southland Christian Church, where the late morning line outside building F stretched at least 75 yards. We caught up with Harold Mullis at the back of the line.

“This is the longest line I've ever seen. And you Sherman, right? Usually you go right in and I mean 10 or 15 minutes is max. But it is pretty hard for somebody at my age to stand in line this long.”

Mullis said the border and economy were his top two issues this year. His friend Sherman Davis agreed with those and added “divisiveness.” A few people back, Joey McFarland said he was about to vote for the second time in his life.

“Right now, I'm kind of feeling like I'm excited for this to be all over and just have an answer. I honestly don't even care what that answer is. I'm just kind of sick of hearing about it and getting phone calls and text messages. I just I'm ready for this to be done.”

A woman in line behind McFarland said, “I agree with him completely” – and likely, lots of other voters did, too.
