A Robertson County woman was indicted on a murder charge Monday after police found her mother’s dismembered body outside her home.

Police arrested Mount Olivet woman Torilena Fields late last week after finding human remains inside and outside her house. The Associated Press reports Fields was charged with abuse of a corpse, evidence tampering and obstruction.

The indictment accused Fields of shooting her mother and stabbing her multiple times before dismembering the corpse. It also accused Fields of torturing and killing a dog.

The mother, Trudy Fields, was killed between Oct. 8 and 9. Officers also found a steel pot in the home’s oven with burnt human remains.

Fields’ bond was set at $1.5 million during Monday’s proceedings.
