The funeral for Letcher County District Judge Kevin Mullins was held Sunday afternoon. The funeral was held at the Jenkins High School Gymnasium in Jenkins.

Mullins was shot and killed in his chambers Thursday afternoon. The Letcher County Sheriff, Mickey Stines is being charged with first degree murder in the case.

Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice Laurence VanMeter has directed all court facilities across the commonwealth to lower their flags to half-staff today in remembrance of Mullins.

Sheriff Stines is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday morning, several counties away, in Carter County.
