The manhunt continues for the gunman involved in the shooting on I-75 in southeastern Kentucky. It has been four days since the suspect fired into at least twelve vehicles and wounded five people.
During a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Kentucky State Police spokesman Scottie Pennington said there is a growing reward for the capture of suspected gunman Joseph Couch.
“Somebody might have a tip and they just don't want to tell us, maybe 25 thousand dollars will help them with that tip. If that tip is great, Crime Stoppers will help.”
The reward continues to grow for Couch. Trooper Pennington said more contributions are coming in to add to the reward for Couch's capture.
“We have Crime Stoppers in Laurel County that has donated quite a bit of funding for this and a lot of private donors, I think in this community and surrounding communities.”
The reward amount as of Tuesday afternoon stands at $35-thousand dollars.
Authorities believe the gunman is still in the wooded area near where the shooting happened. They are advising residents in the surrounding communities to remain vigilant and to call 9-1-1 if they see anything suspicious.
