Kentucky Attorney General’s office releases new Elder Abuse Prosecution Manual

ONA News Agency/Wikimedia Commons

Kentucky prosecutors have an updated resource to address cases of elder abuse.

The 2024 edition of the Elder Abuse Prosecution Manual was released Thursday. The document lays out how to prosecute cases relating to abuse, neglect and exploitation.

That can include personal, financial or medical abuse.

A release from Attorney General Russell Coleman’s office says the Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control got almost 1,300 referrals in 2023.

The manual will be sent to all 57 Commonwealth’s Attorney Offices and all 120 County Attorney Offices.
