Incoming EKU vice president and athletic director Kyle Moats

Eastern Kentucky University has hired a new athletic director. EKU President David McFaddin announced on Monday that Kyle Moats has been named EKU's new vice president and athletic director. Moats joins the staff after most recently serving 15 years as the athletic director for Missouri State University.

In a letter sent to the campus community, President McFaddin praised Moats' accomplishments at Missouri State.  He said - quote -, Moats led a period of significant success and growth in the athletics program financially, academically and competitively.”

Moats has also previously worked at the Universities of Kentucky and Louisville. Moats has a master's degree in sports management from UK.

He will be replacing outgoing AD Matt Roan, who left to accept the same role at James Madison University. Moats is scheduled to start his new role July first.
