Three eastern Kentucky communities vote to allow alcohol sales

Three eastern Kentucky communities have voted to reverse bans on alcohol sales as part of their statewide primaries earlier this week.

Knott County officially became wet, with 59 percent of voters saying yes to alcohol sales.

The towns of Fleming-Neon in Letcher County and Flatwoods in Greenup County also approved alcohol sales, with 80 percent of the vote and 56 percent of the vote respectively.

They join a slowly growing number of communities reversing local bans on alcohol sales. Last year, Madison County, Allen County and parts of Henderson and Garrard Counties also voted to lift the ban.
