Tuesday morning’s storms toppled trees and left thousands without power in several central Kentucky counties. Meteorologist Kevin Farina with the National Weather Service in Louisville said some of the worst morning weather was in Bourbon and Clark counties.
“Got a few reports of some bad damage between North Middletown and Clintonville. And around Bourbon, Clark counties, around the border there.”
Making damage reports harder to gather were communication problems at some counties’ emergency management departments. Jessica Elbouab is the public information officer for Kentucky Emergency Management.
“We do have some that are having communication issues, so we’re working actively on that as well with A-T and T.”
In Bourbon County at Hidden Rose Farm, barns, fencing and an arena were damaged or destroyed and, according to a Go Fund Me page, four horses were injured. By mid-afternoon, supporters had already pledged more than $20,000.
