Two Elliott County first responders die on same day in separate incidents

Elliott County firefighter Frank Whitt was killed Tuesday afternoon while escorting the body of Emergency Medical Technician Drake Adams to a funeral home.

Frank Whitt was a firefighter with the Volunteer 504 Fire Department in Elliott County. According to WSAZ-TV, Whitt was escorting the body of Emergency Medical Technician Drake Adams to a funeral home Tuesday afternoon when his truck struck a guardrail on Route 504 and went over an embankment. Elliott County EMS posted on Facebook, “Both Drake and Frank exemplified unwavering dedication to serving others and their absence leaves a void that cannot be easily filled.”
