A freshman wrestler at Campbellsville University was found unresponsive in his dorm room. State autopsy reveals the student died due to strangulation.

Officials say eighteen-year-old, Josiah Kilman, a student at the private Christian university, was killed by a teammate on his wrestling team.

Police were called to the university early Saturday in response to the discovery of the young wrestling team member.

After the freshman from Columbia Falls, Montana was found unresponsive in his dorm. The university initiated lock down procedures until Charles Escalera, a sophomore at the university from Moore, Oklahoma, was found later that evening.

Police records say Escalera was found in a residence and admitted to breaking in and taking food.

Court records show Escalera was charged with murder and second-degree burglary with a bond set at $2 million.

As of Monday, according to police there is still no determined motive. The defense attorney for Escalera did not immediately return a phone call and email seeking comment. His arraignment has been scheduled for March 6.
