The union representing 60 LGE/KU employees is threatening a strike unless the a new and 'fair' collective bargaining agreement with the company is reached.

According to IBEW Local 2100, the 60 linemen, meter readers and clerks it represents will strike unless the union reaches an agreement with the company. In a statement, the union asked the company to stop stalling at the negotiating table and get serious. According to the union, non-union employees are being paid more than their union counterparts for doing the same work. They’ve also filed unfair labor practice charges against the company for allegedly threatening layoffs and ending health benefits.
In a statement, the utility said it has been negotiating in good faith with the union and has not stalled negotiations or engaged in unfair labor practices. LGE-KU is a financial supporter of WEKU.
