Scott County Deputy killed during traffic stop on I-75

A Scott County Deputy Sheriff has died after being shot during a traffic stop off Interstate 75 in Georgetown. The deputy has been identified 35-year-old Caleb Conley.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. The Kentucky State Police say the suspect has been captured but their identity has not been released.

During a press conference, Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton said Conley had been with the department for four years, he had previously served eight years in the U.S. Army.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
