Governor Andy Beshear is now involved in a one-on-one political race as he seeks to secure a second term in office. The Democratic governor easily moved on to the fall campaign with his Primary Election victory over two opponents.

Following comments from his father, former Governor Steven Beshear and Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman, Andy Beshear began his remarks saying every corner of the Commonwealth has hope and optimism. Much of his 15-minute speech focused on economic gains with a prediction for much more.

“Everything we’re doing right now is about building for the future. These three years of record-setting economic development should lead us into 30 years of progress and prosperity,” said Beshear

While not naming any GOP candidates by name, Beshear said they have stoked divisions. Even before his speech was completed, Attorney General Daniel Cameron was well on his way to easily wining the Republican nomination.
