The Kentucky State Board of Agriculture is conducting a national search for a new State Veterinarian. Dr. Katie Flynn is stepping down from the post at the end of February to take a job at the United States Equestrian Federation.
Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles said in a statement that much discussion in 2022 centered around finding solutions to the large animal veterinarian shortage in Kentucky. He went on to say a big part of any solution is a State Veterinarian who will continue to advocate for the farming community.
Applications for the post will be accepted until January 31st or until the position is filled.
