London police officer killed in crash by drunk driver

London, KY police department

Authorities say a Kentucky police officer has died after his vehicle was hit by a pickup truck whose driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

Kentucky State Police said in a statement that London Police Officer Logan K. Medlock died in the crash, which took place at about 12:50 a.m. Sunday.

Police said Medlock was on duty and driving through an intersection in London when his police cruiser was struck by a pickup truck.

The officer died at the scene of the crash. The pickup truck driver was charged with murder of an officer and using a motor vehicle under the influence.
