The Met in live performance

WEKU will broadcast a special Metropolitan Opera performance of A Concert for Ukraine on Monday, March 14, at 8:00 pm ET on WEKU Classical.

The Met has indicated the concert is being held to offer solidarity for Ukrainian citizens under attack, with all ticket sales and other proceeds supporting relief efforts in Ukraine.

Yannick Nézet-Séguin will lead the Met Orchestra and Chorus and star soloists in a 70-minute program.

Soloists are Lise Davidsen, Elza van den Heever, Jamie Barton, Piotr Beczała, Ryan Speedo Green, and Ukrainian bass-baritone Vladyslav Buialskyi, who will lead the Met Chorus in a performance of the Ukrainian National Anthem.

The program also includes works by Barber, Beethoven, Silvestrov, Strauss, and Verdi.

WEKU Classical is accessible on the WEKU Mobile App and at weku.org.
