The Kentucky General Assembly has passed the halfway mark for the 2022 session. There was talk of significant state tax reform before the start of the session. However, no formal proposal has been made yet. Senate Budget Committee Chair Chris McDaniel said his chamber is awaiting word from the House.
“We’re going to have to see what the House comes with first. Clearly, that’s their prerogative to start that. We’ve not entered into any type of substantive talks with those guys. So, it’s kind of in their court right now,” said McDaniel.
When asked if there had been any tax reform talk in the Senate, McDaniel noted there’s always talk. He added that’s been the case since he came to Frankfort ten years ago. He said there is currently not anything they can act on regarding tax reform.
