Soon, it will soon be easier to charge electric vehicles in Kentucky.
The Commonwealth has received 10 million dollars from the Department of Transportation to build out it’s electric vehicle charging system.
Charging stations are located throughout the state but are sparse in far eastern Kentucky. Gov. Beshear said this will help provide more options for Kentucky motorists.
“The goal is for states to use this money to build up alternative fuel corridors that will provide vehicle buyers and drivers with the confidence that they'll be able to power their EVs without disruption or undo costs.”
Both Ford and Toyota will manufacture electric batteries in Kentucky. Beshear estimates that Kentucky will be the largest manufacturer of EV batteries once both car makers begin production.
