Kentucky Transportation Offices Offering Online Renewals

transportation.ky.gov

Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet is launching a new service; online renewal of driver’s and motorcycle licenses.  It’s available to Kentuckians after services were moved from local circuit court clerks to Transportation Cabinet regional offices.

The new driver licensing service is being administered through 18 regional transportation offices with plans to add more offices.  The online renewal option is for holders of standard-issue or REAL ID licenses whose credentials will expire within six months.  It is also available to those with expired licenses for less than a year who want to maintain the same card version and their current license.

The online renewal option does not apply to Kentuckians requesting a license replacement, upgrading from standard-issue to a REAL ID, upgrading from four to eight-year expiration, those needing a license with a changed name or address, or commercial driver’s licenses.  Online renewal is available at https://dlrenewal.ky.gov
