U.S. Census workers continue to do their work to bring Kentucky up to a 100% participation rate. The Commonwealth currently stands at 99.8% following both self-response and door to door follow-up visits.
Census Media Specialist Susan Licate said the government organization doesn’t share information. “Not with law enforcement at any federal, state, or local level. Not with ICE, not with the FBI, the IRS, Child Support Services, Housing, Zoning, or the Bureau of Motor Vehicle, to name a few,” said Licate.
Licate said Census data is used to distribute $675 billion nationally every year over the next decade. She said it supports many programs and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, social services, public housing, and public transportation. Licate added it’s not too late to get counted this fall.
