Beginning in early 2017, more than 100 Kentucky veterans will likely be living in a new home. Study continues about where to build a fifth veterans center in Kentucky.
There are Veterans centers currently operating in Wilmore, Hazard, and Hanson. Work continues on a new facility in Radcliff with plans to welcome veterans by the end of February.
Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Norman Arflack says the new center will house 30 veterans in four different buildings, “Within each of those buildings there’s ten separate, we call them neighborhoods, where the residents there will have a private room, a private bath." "They will have a community area and a sub kitchen,” continued Arflack.
Arflack says it’s too soon to say where a fifth Veterans center will be constructed. He hopes information from the study can be passed on to state lawmakers in early 2017.?
