Road Crews Prepare to Deal with Freezing Rain in KY

wikipedia.org

State transportation officials say road crews are preparing to deal with the effects of freezing rain in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it has been monitoring the weather forecast and will be calling in road crews Sunday evening. Officials say freezing rain is expected to fall during the overnight hours and is currently predicted to stay north of the Louisville Metro area.

Northern road crews in Henry and Trimble Counties will report for duty at midnight. All other counties in District 5 will mobilize at 4 a.m. Monday.

Crews will treat roadways with salt and other materials to have them in the best possible condition for the Monday morning commute.

District 5 personnel are responsible for clearing highways in Bullitt, Franklin, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties.
