March 17 Fundraiser to benefit rebuilding in West Liberty, Kentucky
The Bluegrass Community Foundation and the Headley-Whitney Museum are co-sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit rebuilding efforts in West Liberty, Kentucky.
The event, being called the Raise of Hope Fundraiser, will take place Saturday evening at 7:00 at the Headley-Whitney Museum, Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington.
Background:
When devastating tornadoes ripped through Eastern Kentucky last week, Shannon Ferguson and his wife Carrie knew they had to do something to help. Shannon grew up in West Liberty and both he and Carrie have friends and family who were directly impacted by the storms. So they decided to do what they do best: organize a party to benefit rebuilding efforts in the area. Their colleague Michele Landers was happy to lend her expertise to the effort.
All proceeds will benefit long-term rebuilding efforts in West Liberty.
The fundraiser will have no overhead costs. Shannon, Carrie and Michele have secured support from their colleagues in the special events business and from other central Kentucky organizations, businesses and individuals.
The Headley-Whitney Museum has donated the use of its beautiful venue. A live band will perform for free. Local vendors will provide food. Area businesses have pledged valuable packages for the silent auction.
They have also established the Raise of Hope Fund at Blue Grass Community Foundation so that everyone who attends will be able to take a charitable deduction for a portion of the price of admission to the event.
The Raise of Hope Fundraiser will be held at the Headley-Whitney Museum on Old Frankfort Pike at 7:00 pm, Saturday March 17.
In addition to live music food, a cash bar, and a silent auction, there will be a big-screen TV in the lounge for viewing the NCAA Tournament
