Alleged Copper Thief Electrocuted

A man was found dead Tuesday in the Harlan County Smith community on property owned by Manalapan Mining Company. The body was located inside the fenced area of an electric substation. Kentucky State Police Trooper Doyle Halcomb is in charge of the death investigation. KSP Sgt. Jeremy Lee said the man appeared to be have been electrocuted while attempting to steal copper wiring from a relay station that supplied power to the property of R & B Coal Company.
