Coronavirus Pandemic Update

On Tuesday, Governor Beshear said the rate of new cases may be slowing down. But the pandemic continues to burden health care systems. Kentucky has faced critical hospital staffing shortages as the pandemic has dragged on.

Kentucky has recorded more than 77,000 cases of COVID this August. In August of last year, before vaccines were available, the state reported nearly 20,000 cases.
