Hopkinsville's Whitney Westerfield May Run For Attorney General

facebook.com

Kentucky State Senator Whitney Westerfield of Hopkinsville might put his name in the currently unopposed race for Kentucky Attorney General. Westerfield said he doesn’t want current candidate Andy Beshear to be Kentucky’s only option.

“I refuse to let someone who I don’t believe is qualified for the office, who I don’t believe has the practice experience or policy experience for the office, to have that and a walk," Westerfield said. "And I frankly think there are plenty of people out there who aren’t prepared to have another Beshear at state level government in Frankfort.”

Westerfield claims he is better qualified because of his prosecuting experience and term in the legislature. He says he and his wife will decide shortly whether to enter the race. The deadline to file for primaries is January 27.
