KY Urged to be Viligant on Anniversary

The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security reminds citizens to be particularly vigilant as Kentuckians observe the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  In many cases terrorist plots have been detected and attacks thwarted based on the timely reporting of observations of ordinary citizens.Kentuckians are encouraged to be cognizant of suspicious activity or item and to report it to the Kentucky Intelligence Fusion Center, a collaborative effort of various federal, state and local law-enforcement agencies.

Citizens may report activity they believe to be unusual or suspicious by calling 1-866 EYE-ON-KY (1-866-393-6659); using the Eyes and Ears on Kentucky Suspicious Activity Report found on the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security website (www.homelandsecurity.ky.gov/sar); or by accessing the same report through the iPhone application that can be downloaded from the website.

Citizens are encouraged to assist law enforcement in identifying and stopping terrorists before they strike. As always, life-threatening situations requiring an immediate law enforcement response should be reported by calling 9-1-1.
