Lexington Gold Medalist Experiences Wide Range Of Emotions

Lexington’s gold medalist Lee Kiefer is back home after her historic fencing feat in the 2021 Summer Olympics. In Today’s Interview we speak with the 27-year-old who graduated from Dunbar High School and is now pursuing a medical degree at UK.

While in the midst of celebrating achievements in Tokyo, Kiefer and her teammates learned of the sudden death of veteran U.S. women’s foil team coach Anthony “Buckie” Leach. Kiefer began her conversation with WEKU’S Stu Johnson reflecting on Leach, who died last weekend in a motorcycle accident in Pennsylvania.
