EKU Exits the OVC With A Semi-Final Loss To Morehead

ekusports.com

The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball team has exited the Ohio Valley Conference when it comes to play on the court.  In what’s been a rivalry game for as long as many Colonel and Eagle fans can remember, Morehead State came out on top last night in an OVC tournament semi-final game.  Morehead beat EKU 67-64 in Evansville.

It was a game which saw MSU get a double- digit lead in the second half, only to have EKU eventually tie it up and even go ahead by one. From there it was a nip and tuck battle until a long heave at the buzzer by Eastern Freshman Wendell Green Junior missed and Morehead had the three-point win. EKU’s Green led all scorers with 29 points.  Devon Cooper was the leading scorer for Morehead with 25.

The OVC Championship pits Morehead against Belmont Saturday night.
